Dr. Kate Zimmerman hails from the mountains of Tennessee where she owned/operated her own veterinary hospital for almost 20 years. When her husband’s job moved them and their son to Texas, she was delighted to join the staff at I-20. While she loves emergency work, complex internal medicine cases and particularly enjoys reconstructive surgery, it’s the daily interactions with her clients and patients that keep her going. After all, everyone needs puppy kisses and kitten purrs to bring joy into their lives!
When not at work, Dr. Zimmerman enjoys everything from the highest mountain top to the ocean. Skiing is her winter joy but she also loves SCUBA and just walking along a beach listening to the ocean. She is also likes gardening and cooking. She is also very interested in scouting since her husband is an Eagle Scout and her son is an active Boy Scout. Her current hobby away from work is writing. She lives with Bonnie and Clyde, two Border Collies, the dogs’ pet cat, Tiggles, and the space alien masquerading as a cat, Licorice.
