We began as a small, single-doctor veterinary practice in 1980. Founded by a woman when not many women were in the field, our focus was and has continued to be on providing the best care possible to pets and their families.
In 1987, we opened one of the first 24-hour veterinary medical facilities in North Texas —providing first-rate service to patients and pet parents who needed loving care during hours other veterinarians were not open for business.
I-20 Animal Medical Center’s present facility opened in October 1997. The vision was to create a larger, 24-hour, state-of-the-art facility specializing in emergency and critical services while maintaining routine wellness services such as annual vaccinations, spays and neuters.
I-20 Animal Medical Center has over 30 years’ experience providing 24-hour veterinary care, and our practice remains focused on providing the highest standard of pet care and medicine at all times. It is both our privilege and responsibility to honor the bond between people and their pets by keeping them happy and healthy for life.
We are proud to serve our community by actively supporting dozens of community outreach programs, providing generous funding and donating countless volunteer hours. Over the years, we have:
Held clinic tours for children to encourage pet health education
Donated materials and classroom time to local veterinary training programs, including training's for local veterinarians wanting to expand skills in veterinary dentistry
Participated in and sponsored local pet-related events
Donated to local schools, community groups and charity funds for pets in need
Provided first-aid training to police officers who handle police dogs
Sponsored medical care for local police dogs
Partnered with numerous local shelters to help animals find forever homes
