Boarding

No matter where you’re going, or where you’re coming from, rest assured that our priority is keeping your furry friend happy, healthy and safe.

Overview

Convenient location, specialized care, and a well-trained, compassionate staff make us the top choice among pet owners. We treat every pet as if they were our very own family pet, and strive to make their stay with us as comfortable and fun-filled as possible. We hope that they will think of our pet boarding facility as a home away from home. We will go the extra mile to ensure that all your pet’s needs are met during their stay with us. You can specify their individual needs for services such as, medications, grooming, a bath, or even a medical procedure, and we will make sure it happens. Whether your pet is here for a day of pampering, as an overnight guest, or for a medical procedure, we keep our facility climate controlled to ensure your pet feels relaxed and comfortable.

Why should I board my pet?

If you are planning to travel overnight for days, weeks, or even a few months, consider boarding your pet during your trip. Your mind will be at peace knowing that your pet is being taken care of in a safe and secure environment.

When should I drop off my pet for boarding?

Please call our office for a more specific drop-off time when arranging boarding services. In most cases, pet owners will drop-off their pet(s) in the morning of the start of the trip.

Pet Boarding

You’ll rest easy knowing the experienced kennel staff at I-20 Animal Medical Center is caring for your pet while you’re away! Our indoor, climate-controlled pet boarding facility offers state-of-the-art suites, plus, unlike most pet boarding facilities, we have veterinarians and vet nurses on duty 24/7. So not only does your pet get to stay in a comfortable pet hotel, but they also have the finest veterinary care available in case they need it.

*Pets staying with us will need a behavior consult prior to their stay.

Playtime

We walk dogs three times a day on our enclosed, manicured lawn. We also provide playtimes in our indoor play space. It is perfect for hugs and kisses, fetch and tug of war. Plus, since it is indoors, weather is not an issue. Your pet will love getting the chance to be the center of attention! Additional walks and playtimes are available for a small additional fee. See below for pricing.

Diet

We feed our pet guests Premium Royal Canin Gastrointestinal diet. However, if you feed your pet a special diet, we will be happy to feed it to your pet instead at no additional charge.

Kongs

A Kong toy is a very firm rubber ball that is hollow to allow room for treats like doggie biscuits, peanut butter and Science Diet canned A/D. Dogs spend hours rolling them around to get the reward out of the middle, so it’s not just a treat dispenser, but a total entertainment system too! We’re happy to provide these to our pup guests at a small additional fee. See below for pricing.

Bathing

Treat your pet to a HydroSurge bath on the last day of their stay! I-20 Animal Medical Center’s state-of-the-art HydroSurge bathing unit is a recirculating pump that produces a vigorous combing-action spray of shampoo and water. With a handheld sprayer, the bathing solution gently penetrates through the hair down to the skin to remove dirt, debris, loose hair, dead skin and dander. It’s a great routine grooming option and can help treat many common skin conditions. Even better, pets love the massage-like treatment, and they smell fresh and clean for you when you return! Ask I-20 Animal Medical Center’s front desk staff about scheduling a bath when you drop off your pet for boarding.

Cat Boarding

Cats board in a separate room at I-20 Animal Medical Center’s boarding facility, away from the noise of our canine guests. Cats tend to feel more comfortable when they have some separation from the noisier parts of our boarding facility.

Please note that all dogs here for day boarding must be picked up by midnight.

To keep all animals in our care safe, your pet must have up-to-date vaccinations before boarding with us. Special Needs Pet Boarding

If your pet has a medical condition, I-20 Animal Medical Center is uniquely able to monitor and care for your pet as a special needs boarder. You can be assured that your pet is receiving attentive care from our highly trained veterinary doctors and veterinary nurses. Being a 24-hour emergency and critical care facility makes us uniquely qualified to care for pets with special needs. In fact, this is the reason so many choose to board their pets with us because of our special care expertise and state-of-the-art facilities.

Why special needs pet boarding instead of regular pet boarding?

Older pets, diabetics and pets with health issues should all board in our special needs section. It is in the heart of our I-20 Animal Medical Center, so your pet gets attention 24/7 from our ICU staff. They are highly trained in managing critical pet patients and therefore are very sensitive to pets with health issues or other difficulties. The most common reasons people choose special needs boarding are:

  • Medications and supplements. Dogs or cats on numerous or time-sensitive medications need care that a regular boarder would not need. Diabetics also fall into this category.

  • Special or extra meals. Pets with very specific dietary needs also fall into the special needs boarder category.

  • Special handling care. Older dogs that need help just to go outside to take care of business can now be boarded safely and easily at I-20 Animal Medical Center. Dogs with significant arthritis would also qualify.

  • Senior care. Many of our older pet guests cannot board at a regular facility. An area with many other dogs, loud noises, and constant commotion just won’t fit their needs. They really need an area that is quieter, constantly watched by staff and more attentive to their needs.
